From Project to Print

 

Post 1: BIRTHDAYS is going on the wall

 

Nearly four years ago I took the first photograph for BIRTHDAYS. I had no idea it would take this long, or that it would end with me in a gallery trying to hang prints in a straight line.

At the end of November, BIRTHDAYS will be exhibited at The London Photography Show, with prints from the book on the wall. I’m excited and a little terrified.

I’m starting this blog to record the final stretch: the edit, the sequencing, the print tests, the framing, and getting a show and a book to feel like two halves of the same story. Right now I’m in the middle of the edit, and every time I think the sequence is settled, I move one image and everything shifts.
