Behind the Behind the scenes ...

I recently posted this picture on my FB account ... It's a picture I've been dying to do for the longest time ...
.
..
There's a photo of Marilyn Monroe looking out from her window ......... I've always wondered what the view from the other side looked like? I really wanted to capture the mood before she opened the window. There must be a moment where you compose yourself before exposing yourself.
.
.
My first attempt was far to dramatic ... it was to extreme in contrast ... The subject was lost in the room and unrecognisable. Also it didn't look like she was waiting to open or look out the window.
.
.
The next attempt was better ..... but I wasn't feeling the B&W ... and that's saying a lot, because normally .... I LOVE B&W!
.
.
I finally managed to capture the mood and feel I wanted ...

The shot involved building a window and wall unit ... I had already built one for our Valentines Photo shoot we did a few weeks ago ... I actually really enjoyed building this set .... I do think I went overboard with the scale, actually I know I went overboard with the scale ... LOLOLOLOL .. I knew I needed to light her from the "outside" of the window so the set had to be assessable from the back.

I hope you enjoyed the story behind the image ... if you interested in adding this image in your collection she is available in store
